Couple and dog rescued from submerged car as flooding continues in Brazil

Crews rescued a woman, a man and a dog from a submerged car as it rained on Friday, May 3 continued to hit the flood-hit state of Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil.

Video released by the state’s military police shows an aerial view of the rescue operation, which took place in the municipality of Bom Retiro do Sul. According to police, the woman had limited mobility and was hypothermic.

According to local reports, heavy rain is expected to continue until Saturday.
