Nick Jonas postpones concerts due to illness

Nick Jonas has postponed the Jonas Brothers concerts in Mexico until next summer.

“Hi guys. I’ve been hit with the nasty flu A strain that’s doing the rounds and I can’t sing right now,” Nick, 31, wrote via Instagram on Friday, May 3, alongside a video in which he shared that he was suffering from flu.

“We always want to be able to give you the best show and I just can’t do that right now for these shows in Mexico.”

In the video, Nick revealed that he lost his voice on Tuesday, April 30, the night he performed with his brothers Joe and Kevin Jonas in Cancun.

Nick struggled, but the trio soldiered on and performed on the show.

“It has only gotten worse over the past two and a half days. “I was in bed all day yesterday and today with fever, body aches, sore throat and a bad cough,” he explained. “I’ve been to a doctor and this morning I actually got the decision that it hasn’t gotten any better. I can’t get on stage tonight and play these shows.”

The band’s postponed shows were scheduled to take place in Mexico City on Friday and Saturday, May 4. The band also had two final shows in Monterrey on Monday, May 6 and Tuesday, May 7.

The singers announced that they have now decided to move the remaining concerts to August 21 and 22 in Mexico City and August 24 and 25 in Monterrey.

“I just have to recover and beat this thing. I’m so sorry,” Nick shared. ‘I hate to disappoint you. You do so much to support us. Many of you traveled to be at that show and I just wanted to say that I am heartbroken about this.

Nick further appreciated the fans for being “understanding” and added that he planned to “get healthy again as soon as possible.”
