Three Indians arrested in Canada in murder case against Khalistani terrorists, photos released

In a statement on Friday, Canadian police said they have arrested three Indians suspected of being part of the alleged assassination squad that shot dead Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in 2023.

Nijjar’s murder sparked a diplomatic row between India and Canada. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau alleged the role of “Indian agents” in the killing, while India dismissed the accusation as “absurd” and “motivated”.

The three arrested Indians are Karan Brar, 22, Kamalpreet Singh, 22, Karanpreet Singh, 28. They lived as non-permanent residents in Alberta, Canada for three to five years. Canadian police also released photos.

Police said they were investigating the arrested persons’ possible links with the Indian government.

Nijjar, a Canadian citizen, was on India’s most wanted list on several terror charges. He was shot dead outside a gurdwara in Surrey on June 18, 2023.
