The Brazilian jiu-jitsu training group that was founded only seven months ago has managed to grow competitors who will participate in the competitions. Ellenberg, the 22-year-old who already had time to participate in many competitions and win championships, decided to create the team in October and start training voluntarily, given the situation in which almost everyone was “locked in the house” according to him . Little by little the team grew and today after six months “became the champion of the north”. “I believe that the industry has been in the shadows for too long and that it is time to promote the industry in the city and make it an international power.”

In the competition held before Passover, 41 participants from the Haifa Pigeon group, aged 5-21 years, each according to their age category, totaled 32 participants with different medals, 11 gold medals, 10 silver medals, 1 -11 bronze medals and the icing on the cake is taking first place in the group.

“I knew I would mentor people, but I didn’t think this would happen at the age of 22”

In a personal conversation, Ellenberg says: I think the 7/10 affected us all. I sat at home and saw the fate of the people, all day the parents sit anxiously in front of the screens and project it on the children. I decided at that moment that I had to take action and started a group in a religious culture center in Neve Shanan. Even during the first training sessions they saw how thirsty and needed the children and parents were no less.

Today, after the children attended two to four practices per week for six months, the team competed and achieved impressive performances in the competition. I always knew that I would guide people to walk the same path as me. But I didn’t think it would happen at 22, but life is full of surprises. On a personal level, I continue to train hard three times a day and I am confident that I will continue to compete and represent Israel.
