Full line-up revealed for Holly Willoughby’s Netflix show, including daytime TV star and two pop legends

TV presenter Steph McGovern and The Inbetweeners star Joe Thomas are the final two contestants in the dozens of celebrities on Bear Hunt.

The duo flew to Costa Rica earlier this month to take part in the Netflix competition led by Holly Willoughby and Bear Grylls.

They join a collection of stars including former Spice Girl Mel B, shamed tennis legend Boris Becker and Strictly Come Dancing judge Shirley Ballas.

A production insider said: “Signing on Steph and Joe has made this one of the most diverse and unusual celebrity line-ups ever seen on a show like this.

“The dozens of celebrities come from incredibly different backgrounds – whether it’s ballroom dancing, singing, sports or interior design. They all bring something to the mix.

“None of the choices are obvious, especially Steph and Joe, neither of whom have been on our screens for a while.”

It marks the start of a new chapter for Steph, 41, who was left disappointed when her Channel 4 daytime show Steph’s Packed Lunch was axed in October last year.

The broadcaster said the show did not fit its “digital-first strategy”.

The program was broadcast for the last time in December.

While Joe, 40, is best known to TV fans as Simon Cooper from The Inbetweeners, he has specialized in comedy and drama since the much-loved coming-of-age Channel 4 series ended in 2010.

It led to two spin-off films in 2011 and 2014.

Since then he has appeared in everything from White Gold, Plebs and the gritty ITV medical series Maternal.

Becker’s Back in the Game: Tennis legend stars in Netflix’s reality show

It will be the first reality TV show for Ted Lasso actor Kola Bokkinni, also known for roles in Top Boy and Black Mirror.

The Sun previously revealed that Changing Rooms star Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen will be on the survival show.

Earlier this month, the filming took place in an area embroiled in drug trafficking wars.

Netflix is spending £1 million to hire ex-special forces to protect Holly – who was spotted on location this week – and the cast and crew.
