Foreign Ministers of Iran and Saudi Arabia hold meeting :: nournews

The two top Iranian and Saudi diplomats met and held talks on the sidelines of the OIC meeting in the Gambia’s capital.

Earlier on Saturday, Amir-Abdollahian met with his Egyptian counterpart Sameh Shoukry.

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian arrived in Banjul, the capital of Gambia, early Saturday morning to attend the 15th Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) summit.

The Iranian Foreign Minister will explain Iranian positions regarding the Islamic world and regional and international developments during the OIC meeting.

He will also hold meetings on the sidelines of the summit with various officials from Islamic countries.

The OIC summit, which will take place on Saturday and Sunday, will mainly have the theme of ‘Promoting unity and solidarity through dialogue for sustainable development’.

Various issues and challenges in the Muslim world, especially the issue of Palestine and the status quo in the Gaza Strip, will be discussed.

Three documents, including the draft resolution on Palestine, the draft Banjul Communique and the draft summit outcome document will be presented to the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers and then to the summit.
