MoFA Palestine welcomes the recognition of Palestine by Trinidad and Tobago

Islamabad, (Parliament Times): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomes the decision of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to recognize the State of Palestine and considers this an important step, in accordance with international law, which will in turn contribute to all international efforts to achieve a to end the Israeli colonial conflict. occupation and achieving peace and stability in the region.

It also welcomes the statement by the Government of Trinidad and Tobago announcing its decision, in which it emphasizes the importance of recognizing the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, to live in freedom and security in an independent state, and rightly emphasizes that this is the only way to achieve a just and comprehensive peace in the region.

The Ministry once again calls on all States that have not yet recognized the State of Palestine to take this decision as soon as possible, as a step towards ending the injustice suffered by the Palestinian people and to ensure their legitimate and inalienable rights acknowledge. , primarily their right to self-determination in their independent and sovereign state, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
