Hot weather seen throughout Japan

People celebrating spring break in Japan felt the heat on Saturday. In many places there were daytime maximums of 25 degrees Celsius or higher.

During the holidays, numerous events are organized during the nice weather to coincide with the holidays.

In a town in Kochi Prefecture, paper carp streamers were seen floating in the Niyodo River. They are part of the celebration of Children’s Day on May 5.

In some places the mercury reached 30 degrees Celsius or more.

Even higher temperatures are expected on Sunday. Weather officials warn that people are at risk of heatstroke as they still get used to the heat. They urge people to take precautions such as drinking water regularly.
